Description:
This role will assist children and youth in a therapeutic milieu to develop resiliency and support these competencies in all areas of their lives. These services occur in a home-like environment that will have additional structure and supports to address the needs of the physically aggressive child or youth.
The Child and Youth Care Worker report to an assigned Team Leader. A Child and Youth Care Worker position is part of the Dragonfly Program team and works in collaboration with other frontline staff, Team Leaders, and the Program Manager. The Child and Youth Care Worker position is a full-time or part-time, salaried, permanent position. A Child and Youth Care Worker is eligible for the Alta Care Resources Extended Benefits Plan (Level B) after the 3-month probationary period if they maintain 20 hours of work per week.

Salary Range: $19.00-21.00/ Per Hour, 80 Bi-Weekly Salary

The Overnight Worker (Awake) position is part of the Dragonfly Program team and works in collaboration with Team Leaders, frontline staff and the Program Manager and is accountable to an identified Team Leader. Therapeutic Youth Workers Posting


Position Summary:
Therapeutic Youth Workers engage children and youth from a position of change, which includes the identification of goals and the establishment of strategies to meet these goals. The development of a therapeutic relationship is an essential part of the intervention and it is this relationship that sets the stage for growth and change. The therapeutic youth worker works in collaboration with other youth workers, family intervention program supervisors, family aides, and multiple outside parties; they are accountable to the Family Intervention Program Supervisors. The position is a part-time permanent position. Number of hours is dependant on the individual caseload of the youth worker; determined by available clients, compatibility with worker, etc. If a Therapeutic Youth Worker is working 20+ hours/week they are eligible for the Alta Care Resources Extended Benefits Plan (Level B) Group RRSP’s and Wellness days.

    Salary Range: $18.50 - 20.00 / Per Hour, 80 Hours Bi-Weekly

    Family Aide Worker Full Time

    Family Aides engage parents and families from a position of resiliency and skill enhancement. The development of a therapeutic relationship is an essential part of the intervention. Family Aides model proper parenting processes and techniques, as well as, directing parents in their day-to-day interactions with their children. The Family Aide works in collaboration with Youth Workers, Family Intervention Program Supervisors, and multiple outside parties and they are accountable to the Family Intervention Program Supervisors. This position is a permanent full-time, salaried position. The Family Aide is eligible for the Alta Care Resources Extended Benefits Plan (Level B) after the 3-month waiting period, if they maintain a 20+ hour work week and Group RRSP’s, Wellness days and vacation days.

      Family Support Worker

      Position Summary:
      The Family Support Worker will provide de-escalation and stabilization to families that are in a state of crisis and/or presenting high risk behaviors. The worker will establish and maintain a respectful, collaborative working relationship with families; providing assessment, information, modeling and teaching skills which support effective parenting and healthy family functioning. These skills include, but are not limited to, parent effectiveness, communication, boundaries, behavior management, discipline, child development, relationship building and effective problem solving relating to goals.
      The Family Support Worker will provide services in crisis situations and address serious safety concerns of high risk clientele. This clientele will be provided greater hours, higher intensity and shorter time periods allowing for these safety concerns to be addressed in a timely manner. Once key results have been accomplished the Family Support Worker will shift the focus of involvement from intervention to maintenance. This is ensured through assessment and collaboration with the service team which consists of the Family Support Worker, primary caregivers/clients and the Alberta Child and Family Services Case Worker. Family Support Workers will be responsible for completing the Family Assessment Form or assisting with the Case Work Model Assessment when contracted. The Family Support Worker will also provide service within the Family Aide role as required, (please see Family Aide job description).
      The Family Support Worker is accountable to the Family Intervention Program Supervisors. The Family Support Worker is eligible for Alta Care Resources Extended Benefit Plan (Level B) at the completion of the 3 month waiting period if they maintain a 20+ hour work week, Wellness days and vacations days. The Family Support Worker is responsible for completing a pre and post assessment. They will support families to access/link with relevant community resources and to provide crisis information to families who are experiencing problems dealing with internal conflict. In consultation with the family, Child and Family Services Worker (CFSW) and other service team members, a Service Intervention Plan will be developed. The plan will be reviewed with the family, CFSW and any other service team members every 90 days.
